About Certified Chemical Free

Why is "Community Based Certification" a Better Solution?

Your Community is a "cloud of witnesses" that can accurately tell the world about you and your farm.

Your Community Knows about You!

A 3rd Party Inspector for USDA Organic Certification will drive 200 miles to see you only one day a year. The inspector doesn't know you or what you do the other 364 days a year. One witness, one day a year is not enough.

Your community consists of your family, friends, neighbors and customers. They see you on a regular basis, and know how you operate your farm. They know if you are buying cheap glyphosate feed down at the Co-Op because they can see you there.

And when you document their witness testimonies about your farm, you create a much stronger certification. At the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

The Certification Process

Step 1: Self Certification - You are Your Own Witness

You have a reputation. And your own witness about what you do on your farm makes your own "Self Certification" just as good as your reputation.

The quality of chemical free food you create on your farm, along with your own statement that you are "chemical free", is a valid form Self Certification.

If you are raising livestock or growing produce without chemicals, send us an email with your name, contact information, breed of livestock or type of produce that you raise without chemicals and we will put you on "The Chemical Free Farm List".

This is how you tell the world that you are chemical free while helping "like minded" people find you.

You can stop here at Level 1 - Self Certification, or you can go to the next level of certification to increase your credibility as a Chemical Free Producer.

Self Certification puts you on "The Chemical Free Farm List", which helps other people find you.

Step 2: Documented Certification

We will help you put your documents online that your farm really is chemical free.

This will be nearly the same information that is required for USDA Organic Certification, but with higher standards (No chemicals).

The Certification Documents will be posted for free on the Certified Chemical Free website, and will look like this example of a Certified Chemical Free Farm.

We will issue you a "Certification Number" like "XYZ-123", a Certification Icon with your Cert# on it, and it will link back to your own documents to show the world that you are Chemical Free.

Step 3: Community Certification (The Highest Level of Certification)

Along with your Certification Documents, we will post on our website statements from your family members, friends, neighbors and your customers that they know you are practicing chemical free agriculture. This it "Truth In Agriculture" backed by statements from your own community.

This is a much stronger type of certification than the 3rd Party USDA Inspector, who sees you, your farm and your documents one day out of the year. Your entire community is now your inspector, and can witness what you actually do 365 days a year.

You can see an example of Community Certification at the bottom of this page.

Truth In Agriculture must be backed by the people in your community that know you.

The Complaint Process

Yes, there are people that do not tell the truth, and fraud destroys the credibility of any Certification.

The Complaint Process for preventing fraud follows the method used in Matthew 18:15-17.

1. First, the person filing the complaint must contact and work "one on one" with the person suspected of fraud. This will resolve a lot of misunderstandings.

2. If that doesn't resolve the problem, then you can use us as a neutral 3rd party to assist you in resolving the complaint.

3. If the complaint is valid and cannot be resolved, then we can post the complaint on the website until the problem is resolved.

Community Certification = Less Complaints

There is a conflict of interest between USDA Certified Organic Farms being certified by the same 3rd party Inspectors that are chosen and compensated by farms they inspect.

This is the major reason for the widespread USDA Organic fraud present in the USDA Organic Certification process.

The flawed USDA Organic Certification process has less credibility than a Chemical Free Certification made by an entire community of voluntary unpaid Chemical Free inspectors, who know the farmer and see the farmer every day.

And if a Chemical Free Farm wants to build more trust and credibility they can have all of their customers, friends, neighbors and family act as witnesses to tell the world about their farming practices.

And if someone sees a problem and want to complain, they can send us an email and we will walk them through the complaint process.
