Six Reasons Why We Need Certified Chemical Free

Reason #1. We Need to Develop Chemical Free Breeding Stock!

Everyone needs healthy sheep, cows, goats, chickens and other livestock for food, yet many of our modern livestock require chemicals for constant deworming, antibiotics, growth hormones, glyphosate sprayed grain and other chemical additives.

But a small group of farmers have maintained various heirloom livestock breeds as "Chemical Free Breeding Stock" that never need chemical assistance.

The "Certified Chemical Free" website is to help Chemical Free Farmers find each other and exchange breeding stock to preserve the healthy traits that keep their animals chemical free.

This website is for the chemical free shepherd, herder and cowboy that raises grass fed animals without chemicals, and needs a way to contact like-minded farmers.

That is the purpose of the "Chemical Free Farm List."

And we need to educate the public why our animals are much more valuable than "USDA Certified Organic" - a certification that has been almost completely taken over by Big Ag.

We hope this is the start of a "Chemical Free Food Revolution" to benefit the small to medium farmer and rancher, and to help the public find chemical free food in an insane world.

Reason #2. USDA Organic Food Is Not Chemical Free!
(Which is Why We Need A New "Chemical Free" Certification)

The USDA Organic standards allow animals labeled “Certified Organic” to receive vaccines that contain preservatives such as mercury or phenol.

These vaccines are commonly used in livestock raised on grain-based diets instead of grass. High-grain diets increase carbohydrates in the digestive system, which promotes the growth of the Clostridium Perfringens bacteria that causes Enterotoxemia. The purpose of vaccination is to protect animals from diseases caused by these high grain diets.

"Big Ag" feeding operations avoid grass and rely on grain to promote faster growth and improve production efficiency.

Maintaining the ability to use vaccines within the USDA Organic Program allows these "Big Ag" operations to continue marketing grain-fed animals as “organic,” even when those animals receive vaccines containing mercury and phenol.

The USDA Organic label is highly profitable for marketing these grain fed animals produced by Big Ag, and that is a good reason why vaccines are allowed in USDA Certified Organic Certified Specification.

It is all about the money.

The Mercury and Phenol in a vaccine that is injected into an animal used for human food will ultimately go into a human body.

Why are Vaccines With Mercury and Phenol Allowed In USDA Organic Certified Animals?

Thiomersal is a vaccine preservative containing mercury.

Vaccines containing mercury and phenol are listed by the USDA as "allowed for Organic Livestock Production" under § 205.603 Synthetic substances allowed for use in organic livestock production as (4) Biologics—Vaccines.

A complete "laundry list" of the synthetic chemicals allowed by the USDA Organic Specification is here. Almost all of these chemicals are harmful to humans.

Vaccines containing Thiomersal (which is a mercury compound) and Phenol (which is toxic to humans) should never be injected into an animal that will become someone's food, especially if it is being labeled as a "USDA Organic Certified" animal.

Most people don't know that livestock listed as "Certified USDA Organic" are being injected with harmful vaccines.

An example is this CD/T Vaccine on the right. The label warns that "In case of anaphylactoid reaction, administer epinephrine."

And "In case of human exposure, contact a physician immediately."

Why is this vaccine is being injected into "USDA Certified Organic" food that will be consumed by a human?

Because an animal will grow faster on grain, which requires vaccines, which makes "more money."

It is about the vaccines "making more money" even when the vaccines can make people sick that are eating supposedly "organic" food.

And none of these "USDA Organic Certified" man-made synthetic chemicals were ever "organic" or came from Nature.

"USDA Organic" is not a good certification because "Organic" implies that the food product came entirely from Nature, and that is not accurate.

We need a Community Based "Chemical Free Certification" that is truthful about all inputs originating from Nature, and that is free for everyone to use. This will encourage more people to grow chemical free food.

The warning by the red arrow states:
"In case of human exposure, contact a physician immediately!"

And the USDA approves that this vaccine containing phenol can be injected into the "USDA Certified Organic" animals that a human will eat.

That is very misleading.

Reason #3. Contaminated "Certified Organic" Feed from Overseas

Although the USA is a net exporter of food, the majority of "USDA Certified Organic" feed comes from overseas. 80% of the yearly 1.3 million metric tons of "Certified USDA Organic" feedstuff commodities shipped by boat (whole soybeans, soybean meal, corn, cracked corn, rape, rape meal, whole sunflowers, hulled sunflowers, sunflower oil, and sunflower meal) come from countries with hardly any organic enforcement and widespread corruption. Yet there is insufficient testing for chemical residues in these imported "Certified Organic" products.

What this means: The majority of "USDA Organic Certified" feed that comes from overseas producers has most likely been contaminated by non-organic chemicals.

"Certified Organic" is not "Chemical Free."

We need Chemical Free Food grown in the USA. Food from overseas cannot be verified as "pure" and should be banned from using the "USDA Organic" label.

That is a very good reason why we need a "Certified Chemical Free" label, as the USDA Organic Label is meaningless.

But "Big Ag" uses this contaminated grain and profits from it when it is labeled "Certified Organic."

And Big Ag has more political power in government than the small farmer, and that is why this tainted imported "organic" feed will never be banned.

It is all about money and power, and when the people depend on the government for healthy food against Big Ag, the people are going to lose.

We need a better Certification not controlled by the USDA or Big Ag.

Reason #4. USDA "Organic Certification" Only Benefits "Big Ag"

The USDA Organic Specification has been designed through extensive regulations to only benefit "Big Agriculture" and not the small farmer.

Here is how it works:

Big Ag raises their supposed "USDA Organic" animals on cheap "dubious organic" feed from overseas that is not fully tested for chemical residues. They crowd their livestock in these Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO) where they are fed nothing but grain. These conditions are not healthy and that is the main reason why they must vaccinate their animals and treat them with chemicals, otherwise they would not survive in this artificial environment.

The small farmer does not have access to this cheap "organic" grain from overseas and so cannot compete against Big Ag in the supposed "Organic Market." Most small "chemical free" farmers oppose raising animals in confinement (CAFO) and feed their animals grass, not grain. And "chemical free" farmers oppose using vaccines.

So the small farmer can never compete with Big Ag in raising "Organic" food, he will go broke! This is why we need a different certification than "USDA Organic."

"Chemical Free" is a different market, and a different product with a much higher standard than USDA Organic.

This is another reason why we need Certified Chemical Free!

Animals raised by "Big Ag" in Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO) are allowed as "USDA Organic."
CAFOs are inhumane and cause disease from overcrowding.
The use of CAFOs requires vaccines and chemicals to be added to the livestock, so they can be passed off to the customer as "healthy" and still have the "USDA Organic" Certification.

Reason #5. No Access to "USDA Certified Organic" Slaughterhouses

Only 59 USDA Certified Organic Slaughterhouses in the Entire USA, almost all controlled by Big Ag!

Not one USDA Organic Certified Slaughterhouse in the entire State of Tennessee, Kentucky, and 27 other states.

The Small Farmer Can't Sell Organic Meat Because He Has No Access to "USDA Certified Organic" Slaughterhouses!

Not only can the small farmer not afford the high cost of USDA Organic Certification, but he also does not have any access to USDA Certified Slaughterhouses or Co-Packers. So you can raise your animals and pay a huge fee to be "USDA Organically Certified", and your animals will be certified while they are alive, but you cannot slaughter your animals and keep your USDA Organic Certification when you sell them because you don't have access to a USDA "Certified Organic" Slaughterhouse. So the small farmer can never sell his meat as "USDA Organic Certified" because he cannot access a USDA Organic Slaughterhouse.

There are only 57 USDA "Certified Organic" Slaughterhouses in the entire USA, and almost all controlled by Big Ag! And they don't have to process meat for anyone but their own company.

WE ARE LOCKED OUT! Here is the proof!

Search the USDA Organic Integrity Database. Use the "Advanced Search" button on the upper right. Scroll down to the bottom left of the screen to "Services and Business Types". Click the "Slaugterhouse" check box. Scroll up to the "Operation Information" on the left. Click "Country/Territory" and select "United States of America" from the drop down list, then click the blue "Search" button at the top of the screen. It returns 57 USDA Organic Slaughterhouses in the entire USA. Try to find the closest USDA Certified Slaughterhouse to where you live, and this is what you will see:

There are no USDA Organic Certified Slaughterhouses in these 29 States:

Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

This is why small farmer cannot raise "organic" livestock, as it impossible to sell your meat as "USDA Organic" when you have no access to the "USDA Organic Slaughterhouses."

Why get the "Organic" certification when you can't stamp your meat product as "Organic" and sell it? I believe that this is by design so that only the wealthy can ever produce "USDA Certified Organic" meat and put it on the store shelf.

We Need an Alternative that is Free, Fair, and Open to the Small Farmer, and Does Not Require a "USDA Certified Slaughterhouse! We Need Certified Chemical Free!

Reason #6. "Organic" Should Mean "Chemical Free"

"Organic" should mean "Organic" - that all inputs are from plant or animal origin, and not man-made synthetic chemicals. The USDA, by law, has a monopoly over the word "Organic" but it does not mean "chemical free" and so we need a Chemical Free Certification alternative.

The Failure of the USDA Organic Specification to Keep Harmful Chemicals from our "Organic" Food Is Why We Need a new "Chemical Free" Certification.

Organic?
Organic is not Chemical Free.
